In this role, you will report to the Lab/Scientific Onsite Manager and will work closely with the Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel and our customers to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time to science.

 

Location: San Diego, CA

Shift: First Shift (Flexible start time)

Pay Rate: $20- $23.50

 

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

  • Consults with customer production lines and manufacturing groups to understand demand forecasts; schedules material lots, expiration date tracking, hazard classification and chemical receiving process/stocking locations.

  • Receive inbound chemical, open packaging, enter into Takeda’s chemical management software database, barcode the container, re-seal and deliver to end user

  • Management of customer onsite chemical storage program including chemical container registration, chemical library audit, reporting, cataloging and storage put away.

  • Stocking inventory of POU and other lab locations, lab materials, as well as chemicals, enter data into database, arrange chemicals, ensure chemists have materials as requested/needed

  • Follow all the customers Safety Program requirements and SOPs

  • Responsible for standing order set-up and maintenance within Avantor and customer systems for planning.

  • Coordinates material delivery and set-up/installation; assists with emergency deliveries.

  • Change Notification compliance updates engineering change orders, part# updates, adding/deleting materials when needed.

  • Provides reporting on material planning, open order, metrics, etc.

  • Works with appropriate parties to resolve nonconformance issues for raw materials; documents complaints, supplier investigation, root cause analysis of non-conformance, supplier corrective action (SCAR), and pre-planned deviations.

  • Provides general Customer Service assistance & Provides audit support

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

  • High school diploma required.
  • Associates/bachelor’s Highly preferred
  • 1 – 2 years of chemical/waste handling preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

 

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel and Access)
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently to prioritize multiple competing tasks
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with chemical handling desirable.
  • Presentation skills
