OVERVIEW:
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for working with our Engineering and Design teams to generate safe, high-
quality and efficient electrical designs. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, the ability
to effectively communicate detailed elements, to schedule and manage resources, to successfully communicate
with internal and external project teams, as well as external engineering teams. The Electrical Engineers primary
role is in leading electrical design of low and medium voltage distribution systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer include and are not limited to:
Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements and industry best practices.
Utilize knowledge of electrical principles, materials and construction practices to evaluate designs for
real-world application.
Design validation using engineering standards and calculations.
Generate electrical single line, three line, and wiring diagrams for power and communication systems.
Ensure design is consistent with manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures.
Ensure design is compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
Evaluate designs to identify cost saving features, materials or processes.
Provide engineering support to multi-disciplinary teams.
Provide communication loop between design and manufacturing.
Provide leadership and training for other engineering team members.
Communicate with Project team regarding design development.
Create equipment specifications based on project design requirements.
Evaluate design for best methods of manufacture, transport and field implementation.
Work with equipment supplier/vendors to obtain the required information for design completion.
Participate in developing design plan and project schedule.
Participate in design review meetings, track issues and effectively document resolution.
Support Supply Chain team members with equipment specification and identification of long lead-time
materials.
Contributes to the development of electrical design standards.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing
professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods.
Researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
