Inspector-I
Valencia, CA
6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Thursday
Summary
Responsible for performing and recording visual inspection of parts and/or assemblies of final product. Or the receipt, verification and recording of products that comes into the facility.  Accuracy of materials/product is key in order to maintain integrity of inventory control and insures delivery to the proper department.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other tasks and duties may be required as directed.
Required to perform simple product inspections with appropriate supporting documentation verifying actual results against drawing and/or specification requirements with little supervision.
Verify vendor certifications against drawing and/or specification requirements for accuracy and completeness.
Verify compliance of finished hardware with drawing requirements based on shop practices as they relate to unfinished hardware (e.g., visual verification of machined areas, etc.)
Perform simple mathematic calculations.
Use quality-related software and ERP to appropriately record assigned job results based on completed processes.
Meet deadlines of assigned jobs while maintaining the integrity of the position.
Properly handle and maintain inspection instruments and equipment for use in conducting simple product inspections.
Seek and document lean process improvement ideas.
Receives product deliveries.
Inspect, accept, or reject inbound shipments.
Records and checks quantities of goods received.
Communicates and coordinates with appropriate buyer for discrepancies and, returns product.
Properly inputs received material into computer system and forwards documentation as needed.
Transfer production items in a timely manner and in the appropriate location.
Delivers non-production to the appropriate person/department.
Coordinate shipments and receipts of Out Side Processes (OSP) items.
Log RMA’s appropriately and ensure prompt delivery of product.
Help with or complete special projects at the discretion of the Lead or Supervisors.
Lead and direct others to ensure product gets in and out of receiving in a timely manner.
Be able to back up each area of receiving or OSP verification.

Qualification Requirements
Education/Experience
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); three to six months related experience or training.
 
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before small groups of customers or employees.
 
Math Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
 
Reasoning Skills
  • Ability to solve practical problems ad deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
