Job Title: Instructor Reports to: Supervisor Shift: M-F, 7am-4pm
Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming, and dressing needs, including assisting with restroom and changing of undergarments. Redirect behaviors with various activities including, walking, reading, games, math, and computer projects.
Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients’ (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan
Assist clients with bathroom needs
Change clients’ under garments and/or clothing if needed
Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up
Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary)
Facilitate their departure and arrival for work or daily outdoor community integration activities in various weather conditions
Participate in client assessment, planning, and evaluation processes
Input all client notes into Relias
Review IPP goals and update Supervisors when necessary
Support clients with daily living and vocational activities
Work at other Day Programs as needed
Knowledge of adults with developmental disabilities
Knowledge of dual diagnosis
Knowledge of behavioral issues, including aggressive, non-verbal and self-injury behaviors
Knowledge of Individual Program Plans
Knowledge of ABA techniques.
Education and Experience
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience: 1 year experience preferred supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
Minimum Driving Experience: Must have 5 years of continuous driving experience.
The Instructor works both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Frequent lifting to 50 lbs.
