Examples of Minimum Requirements include but are not limited to:
Collect, and deliver letters, flats, packages and other materials according to established routes; sign for and obtain signatures for accountable controlled mail.
Pick up and deliver various County data processing input and output products, box material, non-routine mailings and controlled/sensitive materials; determine delivery schedule and best route sequence.
Sort mail products and other materials; pack and unpack mail and materials; weigh and process letters, flats and packages.
Operate postage mailing machines, electronic postal scales, electronic accounting systems, typing, folding, inserting and tabbing/labeling machines; make necessary adjustments; assist machine operators in previewing and traying mail products.
Receive and transport various laboratory specimens and bio-hazard materials under controlled and protected conditions.
Process permit imprint mailings per U.S. Postal Service regulations.
Maintain logs and may occasionally perform other routine clerical work.
May assist in training other mail service personnel.
Operate and adjust mail equipment, to sort, pick-up, meter, and deliver mail, and/or to perform a courier function.
Responsibility to assist the supervisor of a major section of the centralized mail operation, and to act for the supervisor during absences.
Monitor the work accuracy and efficiency rate of subordinates; provide input for work performance evaluations; may participate in hiring; assist supervisor with employee training and preparation of work schedule; function as section supervisor when required.
Assist departments with special mail service needs; coordinate section needs and requirements with outside agencies; resolve problems.
Prepare various types of mail products for processing by government or private agencies; determine appropriate agency.
Perform routine trouble-shooting of equipment.
Examples of Duties include but are not limited to:
Ensure compliance to policies, procedures, and departmental standards
Perform quality assurance checks on various tasks and processes, maintain logs when applicable
Make recommendations for process improvements
Supervise and train multiple teams responsible for various departmental processes
Provide status information to management on a regular basis
Manage workflow of teams to ensure deadlines are met
Create or update departmental procedures, ensuring compliance is current
One year of experience in a centralized mail processing operation which included operating mail processing equipment such as: inserting machines, postage mailing machines, automated labeling machines, and folding machines.
