Pay Range: $65-85/hr
Our client is looking for highly qualified candidates who’ll be able to provide and work with specialized programs that are designed to offer a unique approach to special education. Our program specializes in meeting the needs of these challenges which may include problems with concentration, behavior, learning disorders, development, physical or psychiatric disorders, and emotional problems.
Job Description:
Occupational Therapist provides service to students with special needs, such as evaluation services, and assist the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team with identifying the presence of a disability and whether there is an educational need for occupational therapy services. Occupational therapy intervention is provided directly “to the child, or on behalf of the child, and [as]…program modifications or supports for school personnel” (IDEA, 20 USC, Section 1414 (d)(1)(A) IV). This may include adapting to the environment, modifying curriculum, supporting accommodations, ensuring access and participation in school activities and educational programs, and assisting in preparation for transition post-graduation. Services take place in natural school settings.
