Job Description

JOB TITLE: Operations Manager
Primary duties and responsibilities:
  • Monitors priority of work and assists in solving scheduling and resource problems with division managers, project managers and department managers.
  • Works with other Client offices to encourage project teams to balance manpower with workload while providing better service to the clients.
  • Participates in preparation of proposals and presentations with managers and the business development group.
  • Supports Management to attain strategic business goals, including financial targets. Monitors profitability by client and PM and works with Management and PM on corrective actions.
  • Works with Management to ensure that each department is executing every project efficiently, within budget and on schedule and that Quality Assurance standards are met.
  • Assists with preparation of Business Plan and Budget.
  • Works with Management and Corporate T&D to ensure that training efforts are based on need.
  • Coordinates with C&IS on hardware, software, and technology needs.
  • Works with Management to ensure that SSOE policy is followed.
  • Participates in project post-evaluation and lessons learned.
  • Acts as Project Sponsor for specific projects as appointed by the General Manager / Country Manager or designee to support project team in attaining the project goals and also for managing of client relationship.
  • Ensure that all projects comply with established work instructions and meet with ISO procedures.
  • Travel required. Valid driver’s license required. May be waived for international assignments.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership position with the ability to lead and bring dispersed teams together across multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, works well in cross functional team environment
  • Ability to exercise judgment within procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
