Job Description

Amtec is seeking a Plant Manager for one of its valued clients in Jerome, Idaho.  The Plant Manager will oversee the operations of the plant and will be responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are being followed.  The chosen candidate will develop processes that will maximize productivity, quality and safety in an effort to meet the business objectives in accordance with the company”s values. The plant manager will be a strong hands on leader who will drive his teams to success.
Essential Functions:
  • Manage the day to day operation and develop long term plans
  • Responsible for the daily operations of the plant to include safety, production, supply chain, accounting & administration
  • Allocate resources effectively
  • Implement the company”s strategies and initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Determine KPIs and measure them on a regular basis.
  • Conduct lead root cause analysis investigation. Develop and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Act as the point of contact with municipalities and all relevant branches & official”s representatives (including construction authorities)
  • Stay up to date with latest production trends, industry standards, best practices and technology
  • ? in an effort to improve operations
  • Increase production, assets capacity and minimize costs; identify waste and inefficiencies
  • Improve quality standards
  • Meet and exceed production goals and analyze production/performance reports
  • Oversee and maintain plant structure and machinery; develop and maintain preventative maintenance program
  • Manage the plants workforce; hire, develop and retain employees
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and build trusting relationships with the plant staff
  • Communicate expectations, promote HR policies and procedures, reward and motivate employees, conduct performance reviews, and manage employee issues
  • Manage plant costs and achieve companies budgetary and logistics goals
  • Purchase and stock plant materials as needed

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor"s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration preferred
  • 5+ years" operations experience. Proven managerial experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, and inventory management processes
  • Able to lead root cause analysis investigations
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants
  • In-depth knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Aptitude for equipment operation and troubleshooting, proactive problem solver, plastic manufacturing preferred
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Proficient with MS Office
