Job Description

Our client is a global provider of IoT innovative products and services including embedded IoT modules, IoT system solutions, and custom hardware, software, firmware design services and SaaS platforms.  

We are looking for a Product Quality Engineer. 
This position can be based either in Irvine, CA, or in Minneapolis, MN. Most employees are presently working either remote or on a hybrid schedule.  
This PQE will partner with cross functional teams to support the development of new and innovative products and drive design for manufacturing excellence.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong product data (BOM) management experience.  
Selected candidate will:  
  • Develop the BOM structure within the Product Data Management tool (Agile PLM).
  • Manage and maintain the integrity of the Lantronix BOMs.
  • Design for DFx : DFM, DFA, DFS.
  • Govern and control change orders and documentation to meet quality standards.
  • Interface/engage with Engineering, Marketing, Service Ops and CM Partners.
  • Provide hardware debug mentorship to contract manufacturer’s manufacturing engineers.
  • Ensure that Manufacturing receives product training.
  • Improve manufacturing operations processes and actively enhance efficiency, consistency, cost avoidance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage release of New Products and manage technical changes to existing products.
  • Develop, document, enforce, and measure existing and next-generation PLM processes.
  • Develop manufacturing process and best practice documentation.

Job Requirements

Essential skills required:

  • BS degree in related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 2+ years as an NPI product or manufacturing engineering.
  • EC Analyst or Document Control or Configuration Analyst professional.
  • Experience working in the IoT/IT management (preferred) or high tech industry.
  • Experience working at a large OEM/ODM and EMS corporation is a plus.
  • Experience working with Agile PDM (preferred) or other PLM.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, process savvy, and customer-focused yet flexible and adaptable to business needs.
  • New Product Introduction and Product Life Cycle Management process knowledge,
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in teams, high level of teamwork and collaboration skills are essential.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced changing business environment.
