The Sales Manager is responsible for the overall branch performance and operations.
Set and optimize sales objectives from a signed account base for the branch in terms of overall numerical, broadening and image goals.
Hit all budgeted metrics including branch sales and engineering metrics.
Direct the GSM, Strategic Account Managers, and Account Executives in key accounts.
Conduct regular, formalized account reviews with the sales teams to review numerical, broadening, and image goals in an account.Reviews should be held on a quarterly basis.
Supplier reviews and monthly opportunity reviews.
Hold performance reviews and compensation adjustments of staff.
Monitor daily activity of all SAM’s.
Hire/ replace sales staff; training of new staff.
Ensure and assist sales team supports and promotes branch image to the local manufacturer reps.
Improve customer relations and sales through face to face interaction via weekly customer calls to promote sales programs.
Monitor overall profitability of the branch.
Use and support all of Corporate programs in order to maximize on business opportunities.This includes elevation of supply chain issues locally & with corporate for customer shortages as well as weekly quote reviews.
Arrange & coordinate Corporate Customer visits.
Define approach to key industries (Network/Telecom) and specific customers like Virtual OEM”s.
Review design opportunities with the Advanced Engineer’s, GSM’s, SAM’s.
Interface with AEG’s to identify Focus Accounts based on these design opportunities and branch ranking, market ranking, and key end technology in these accounts, and review this list quarterly.
Conduct focus account, supplier and activity reviews with the Regional Technical Director- Engineering (RTD).Formal reviews with the sales team and the Advanced Engineers should be held by the second week of each quarter.
Ensure that the mutually agreed upon focus accounts receive the proper attention – including the number of visits to the customer”s Engineering Department.
5 years experience within the electronics distribution industry
Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
