Duration: Full-time/Part-time and Permanent

Our client is looking for highly qualified candidates who can provide and work with specialized programs designed to offer a unique approach to special education. Our program specializes in meeting the needs of these challenges which may include problems with concentration, behavior, learning disorders, development, physical or psychiatric disorders, and emotional problems.

 

Job Description:
 

School Counselors ensure that special needs students and their families have access to the appropriate support and interventions in order to facilitate improved achievement in a school environment. In addition to facilitating academic and intellectual growth, special education counseling is concerned with improving a student’s ability to function in social, emotional, and behavioral capacities. Special education counseling is a multi-modal discipline in that special education counselors must be well-versed in counseling theories and techniques, as well as educational theory, educational law, and special education regulations.

 

  • Will be handling Mild to Moderate counseling
     

Minimum qualifications to be considered:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling or any related field
  • Licensed and Credentialed PPS/MFT/School Counselor
  • Knowledge and experience in school counseling (at least 6 months)
  • Have daily access to a Windows-based computer with a connection to the Internet with Internet Explorer 6.0 (or greater), graphics card capable of displaying at least 16-bit at 800 x 600 resolution, and the ability to send and receive email
  • Proficient in the use of modern office technology, equipment, and procedures including Microsoft Office, Adobe, basic email, internet, and be able to learn and adapt to new systems and software
  • Must clear a current background check through the FBI and DOJ
  • A current TB Test (within the last 6 months)
  • Current negative COVID Test or proof of vaccination
     

Preferred qualifications include:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field
  • Experience in a special education classroom
  • CPR/CPI certification
  • Fluent or conversational Spanish speaker
