Senior Database Administrator | REMOTE

Our client is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage Microsoft SQL Server 2012–2022 databases. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 12 years of experience managing and supporting commercial and open source databases, with specific 3+, years’ experience building the processes required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data using a Fivetran/HVR. The candidate should be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills, work seamlessly in a team environment, and provide leadership and technical training to less proficient employees.

Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ years of overall IT database experience on commercial and open source databases
• Extensive experience with SQL 2014-2022 Architecture. Install, configure and maintain MS SQL Server clustered environment including Always On Availability Groups and Active-Active failover clustering implementations for High availability and DR
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2012-2022, AWS Redshift, and Oracle
• Experience with Fivetran & HVR for CDC (change data capture) / Log-Minor from relational data stores, along with DBA knowledge
• Experience with ETL design and development, preferably with SSIS
• Experience migrating to and supporting databases using AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) and AWS Application Migration Service
• Experience with ETL design and development, preferably with SSIS
• Experience with cloud-based data repositories (AWS Redshift, AWS S3, Data Lake, HVR Hub)
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI
• Excellent understanding of the AWS architecture

• 10 or more years of related experience, and recent experience with the specific required skilled

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree OR Associates/High School Diploma with commensurate experience in required skills
