Job Description
The Sewing Inspector will perform first-article in-process and final inspection of item manufactured or procured for use as a contracted end item. Inspection includes the use of inspection tools and instruments to demonstrate compliance to specifications and visual inspection by attributes for workmanship in accordance with internal or customer specifications and standards, as well as verification of all appropriate documentation. Generally, this position requires as a high degree of visual acuity and close attention to detail. Job functions are listed below:
  1. Inspection of materials, parts, processes and final products.
  2. Inspects close tolerance items using standard inspection equipment, procedures/ drawings and set-ups.
  3. Verify paperwork accompany inspected items is correct and complete
  4. Perform first article, in-process and final inspection
  5. Prepares and files all required quality documentation and records for the inspection area assigned
  6. Responsible for actively pursuing continuous improvements in the position and assigned area
  7. Performs other duties, consistent with the position, as required or assigned
Job Requirements
  • Three years related experience in sewing inspection and quality assurance in soft goods production.
  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Able to understand and interpret a variety of government and customer standards and specifications.
  • Able to use common inspection hand tools.
  • Understand quality assurance processes and set-ups
  • Must be able to perform highly detailed visual repetitive inspection
  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively with others and be able to use good judgment.
  • Must be flexible regarding position duties and hours
