Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements for purchased materials through warranted finished goods.
Design and implement methods for testing/inspecting the quality level of products and production equipment.
Review engineering documentation to ensure it contains the necessary criteria and provisions to permit effective inspection and testing of materials and products.
Analyze reports and returned products, and recommend corrective action for procedural, product or process deficiencies.
Develop standard work processes focusing on Supply Chain Management including, Supplier Assessments, Appraisals, New and On-going approvals, Strategic Global Transfer of Work Projects.
Maintain and improve supplier KPI’s
Monitor Supplier Delivery Performance
Participate on design development teams with regard to new quality requirements and/or past issues.
Review engineering change orders to determine if quality plans and/or inspection/testing requirements need to be revised or added.
Assure purchased material meets quality requirements through the supplier selection process, first article inspections, process capability, measurement of supplier performance and assuring closure on corrective action requests.
Use the Corrective and Preventive Action system to ensure both current and potential quality problems are solved.
Review in-process and customer rejections to facilitate and generate improvements related to supplier performance. Use this information to determine if systemic issues requiring corrective action exist.

Reports to the Procurement/Supply Chain Leader.
Interacts with Operations Managers, Manufacturing Engineers and Associates.
Interacts with Purchasing (Buyers).
Interacts with Design Engineering.
Interacts with Customer Service Representatives and Account Managers.
Interacts with Suppliers regarding onsite audits, first article inspections and corrective action.
Works with external suppliers on Strategic Transfer of Work Projects.
External PPM (customer returns related to supplier performance)
Internal PPM ( in-process rejections related to supplier performance)
Education - Bachelor degree required. Engineering or other technical major preferred. Advanced technical or business degree beneficial.
Experience - Minimum of two years quality system experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Functional Training - Demonstration of continuing education in quality assurance to ensure knowledge & understanding of leading edge practices & technology. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.

Outstanding problem-solving skills
Effective experience with quality tools (e.g. capability studies, process control techniques, statistical analysis of data, problem solving methodology, etc.).
Experience with ISO 9001 compliant quality systems.

Experience with software tools including Microsoft Office and QMS software packages.
Ability & experience interfacing at all levels of the organization.
