Mission: Amtec is seeking a VP of Sales for one of its valued Orange County based clients. Our client is a successful multi-billion-dollar organization who has been in business since the early 1900’s”! In this hands-on leadership role this position will be responsible for leading the growth of the business unit through the expansion of our client’s current customer base and the addition of new sites and locations. The VP of Sales provides a safe operating environment for team members and customers and facilitates team member’s growth enabling them to advance in their careers. As a result, our client’s customers receive value from their service offerings and the business unit delivers targeted financial results.The Vice President of Sales provides the tactical execution of the strategic planning initiatives outlined by the Division President to achieve long term division goals.
The VP of Sales will be responsible for overall volume and gross margin growth and retention of base business.This position will lead the Business Development and Account Management teams, as well as sales relationships with internal and external stakeholders and customers.The VP of Sales will collaborate with internal and external operations to ensure the sales organizations efficient operation and success.This position reports to the Division President but will also work closely with others on the executive leadership team.Execution of objectives that align with long term initiatives is paramount to the success of this position.
Business Unit Performance: The VP of Sales is responsible for overall sales results of the business unit. It is the sole responsibility of the Vice President of Sales to ensure sales effectiveness, operational efficiency, and bottom-line results.
Provides Metrics: Working with the sales managers and financial team members, the VP of Sales establishes and monitors sales metrics and scorecards to establish and track team members team member performance. The Vice President of Sales ensures these metrics meet or exceed targeted leading and lagging indicators
Hiring A Players: The Vice President of Sales is responsible for ensuring the business unit is staffed with high quality sales team members with character, competence, chemistry, whose values align with the organization. Additionally, the Vice President of Sales will ensure his direct reports through first line supervisors are well equipped to hire well on an as needed basis.
Coaching, Mentoring, and Team Building: The Vice President of Sales is instrumental in coaching and mentoring individual team members, helping them improve their competence, increase their capacity, improve their contribution, and grow their career.
Analysis & Presentation: The Vice President of Sales gathers and analyzes operational and performance data, prepares information reports, and presents to the Division President and other key stakeholders.Also, effectively utilizes CRM to monitor opportunities, forecasting, and pipeline management.
Key Customer Liaison: Vice President of Sales maintains strong relationships with key customers and delivering what our client’s customers value. Retains and grows their business through quality service.
Performs due diligence: Aids in acquisition analysis and due diligence. Working with our clients team, researches, gathers, validates, and analyzes information relevant to acquiring new sites and occasionally, businesses. Prepares and presents recommendations, supporting recommendations in clear, understandable format consistent with organizations criteria.
Monitor and optimize business processes – Provides and reviews data to ensure both compliance and effectiveness of complex sales and operational processes. Identifies weaknesses, and works collaboratively with direct reports to design, execute and complete continuous improvement initiatives.
Budgeting and Planning Process – Participates in the annual budgeting process for division. Works collaboratively with peers to deliver accurate annual forecasts. This includes any changes to dashboards, KPI’s, metrics or individual scorecards. Reviews and analyzes results to achieve agreed upon plan results.

Bachelor’s degree required
Direct B2B sales management experience with proven track record of growing sales
Excellent leadership skills
Strong business acumen; 20 years corporate business experience desired
7-10 years sales and sales management experience with a proven track record of success
