Job Description
Position: Welding Associate
Location: Hayward, CA
Duration: Full time, Permanent

What you’ll be doing:
As a Welding Associate, you’ll:
  • Handle & operate equipment safely
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding needs
  • Operate semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas metal arc and dual-shield metal arc
  • Examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Layouts, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies in accordance with shop drawing
  • Perform other associated duties as assigned
Work Environment
  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Occasional exposure to a variety of extreme temperature conditions due to weather (hot and cold)
  • Exposure to load noise level in the shop 
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry heavy objects
  • Regularly walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Strong manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
  • Must present a medical clearance confirming your ability to wear a respirator as a condition of employment
Job Requirements
Who you are
An experienced welder, motivated and enthusiastic about supporting the Shop team by performing and maintaining various warehouse processes. You are available to work on the day shift (6:00am – 2:30pm) or swing shift (2:30pm – 1am, M - Th)  at our steel fabrication shop in Hayward. And, you enjoy working in a team oriented environment and always make safety a priority. You have:
  • Education High School Diploma or equivalent and vocational school
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience as a welder in a fabrication, manufacturing or structural environment is a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of welding techniques for Mig welding
  • Knowledge of a wide range of welding principles, processes, and difficult techniques requiring complete penetration and fusion of base and filler metals
  • Ability to maintain dimensions and tolerances to specifications
  • Ability to read shop drawings
  • Welding certification(s) is highly desirable, but not required
