Job Description

PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Under minimal supervision the accounts receivable specialist will participate in the daily operations of the company’s accounts receivable collections cycle. The position requires the ability to operate in multiple capacities including collections, issue resolutions, and ensure completions of daily cash application and customer account reconciliation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  1. Proper recording and application of cash, management of outstanding invoices in a timely manner in ERP.
  2. Properly navigate and maintain customer’s and government portals for invoice upload and payment research.
  3. Expected stable weekly collection efforts.
  4. Communicate and work with in-house customer representatives, as well as customers for collections.
  5. Reporting of Aged Receivables.
  6. Maintain control of all collection calls and ensure monthly company metrics are achieved.
  7. Set up and review new customer accounts and process credit report through D & B.
  8. Maintain customer files.
  9. Support Accounting department and performs other duties as assigned.
  10. Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 
  1. High school diploma or equivalent with college level accounting experience
  2. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Accounts Receivable.
  3. Equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  1. Strong Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, analytical skills and AVANTE ERP (desirable).
  2. Able to problem solve and handle a variety of issues.
  3. Excellent communication and time management skills.
  4. Ability to work well in a team as well as an individual contributor.
  5. Able to work autonomously and able to prioritize tasks

  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms (keyboarding/data entry, dial phone, sort/gather, file, scan, copy documents).
  • This position may alternate between a sedentary as well as mobile role at times in order to follow up with various departments in the company.
  • This position would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand.
    Intermittent travel may be required by road and/or air to various clients/ vendors and/or subcontractors.
  • Occasionally may include heavy lifting and moving of equipment 30+ pounds: overhead lifting, bending, prolong standing, twisting.
