JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility for the Business Development Representative (BDR) is to develop new leads and appointments for the Sales Team through outbound prospecting by telephone, email, and social outreach. This role will be required to communicate with prospects, understand their needs, and ensure a smooth transition to the sales team. To be successful as a BDR you should be able to build instant rapport with prospective customers and achieve a foundation for high customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
These duties must be accomplished in accordance with the Company’s Mission Statement and Quality Statement while adhering to our Core Values. Other duties may be assigned.
* Generate sales-ready meetings and opportunities for the Outside Sales Team.
* Conduct high level discovery calls with Key Executives in target accounts.
* Communicate directly with prospects by telephone, email, and social outreach.
* Build, prioritize, and qualify strategic prospect lists within defined target markets.
* Identify and understand prospects’ needs and interest in the client’s products and services while effectively communicating Client’s Value Proposition.
* Utilize and maintain lead database in CRM and report out on defined metrics.
* Consistently achieve quota to exceed lead generation and growth objectives.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DEPARTMENT EXPECTATIONS
* Comfortable cold-calling and emailing qualified prospects.
* Ability to write email scripts for cold email outreach.
* Ability to build rapport with prospects via telephone and electronically.
* Stay current with industry trends, competitors, and Client’s products and services.
* Ability to explain and demonstrate features of Client’s products and services.
* Represents Client in a positive, professional and enthusiastic manner when working with vendors, customers, and other employees.
* Assists with other projects or tasks as assigned.
* Ensures compliance with Employee Handbook, Health & Safety and Quality Manual.
* Attend company sponsored training as required for department.
* Use good time management skills and work effectively with all members of the team.
* Communicates fully with Marketing Manager, including participation in regular one-on-ones.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
* Previous experience in an outbound call center or a related sales position preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
* Excellent phone and cold calling skills.
* Exceptional customer service skills.
* Strong listening and sales skills.
* Ability to achieve targets.
