Job Description

Summary
As a Swiss CNC Operator, you will play a critical role in manufacturing precision components using Swiss-type CNC machines. You will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining these specialized machines to produce high-quality parts that meet precise specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to ensuring the efficient and safe operation of CNC equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • CNC Machine Setup: Prepare and set up Swiss-type CNC machines by installing and aligning necessary tooling, collets, and workpieces. Ensure that all machine components are in proper working condition before starting the production process.
  • Programming: Utilize CNC programming software to input the appropriate commands and instructions into the machine’s control panel. Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs to achieve accurate and efficient machining processes.
  • Operation: Safely operate Swiss CNC machines during the production process. Monitor the machining process to ensure parts are being manufactured to meet required specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of produced parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Tooling Maintenance: Regularly inspect and replace cutting tools and inserts as they wear out. Properly store and organize tooling to ensure easy accessibility for future use.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the machining process, such as tool breakage, machine malfunctions, or programming errors. Implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Workpiece Loading/Unloading: Safely load and unload workpieces onto/from the CNC machine, ensuring proper alignment and securing to prevent any damage during the manufacturing process.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine setup, tool changes, program adjustments, and inspection results.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating CNC machines. Comply with company policies and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest potential solutions to optimize CNC machining operations, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.
