Job Description

PURPOSE AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the organization, planning, staffing, and profit-and-loss control of a principle operations department of the company engaged in the manufacture of Company products. Coordinates with functional departments such as quality assurance, marketing, sales, and administration to define goals and resolve problems. Participates in development of Company policies and strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Plans, maintains profit-&-loss control, organizes, and staffs the company’s principle operations department engaged in the manufacture of company products.
2. Directs managers and employees engaged in production, production control, purchasing, production engineering, maintenance, inventory control, and warehousing activities.
3. Coordinates division operations activities with functional executives providing support in such areas as quality assurance, engineering, sales, marketing, finance, human resources, and information systems.
4. Coordinates, integrates, and ensures cost-effective manufacturing and high quality standards are maintained throughout the department.
5. Coordinates with engineering management to promote the design and development of producible designs and the development of most effective operations sequences.
6. Responsible for conducting research and in-depth studies to improve overall effectiveness of the operations department and smooth integration of all component units.
7. Keeps abreast of new developments in the manufacturing technologies field and recommends changes needed to maintain the division’s technical leadership.
8. Develops division policies and procedures and long and short range plans within the Company planning framework.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of company and department products and the overall industry. Must understand company philosophy and operations divisional capabilities with the ability to translates customer requirements into cost-effective company products.
  • Advanced degree in business is desirable or equivalent technical and management experience of 12 - 15 years.
  • To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Works in an office and factory environment.
  • The employee walks extensively throughout shop and facility. Answers telephone calls and occasionally bends, reaches, and pushes and pulls file drawers to file records and reports. Must have the ability to lift and move parts and equipment up to 30 pounds. Bends over, crouches, grasps, pushes, and pulls in order to carry-out operations activities and coach employees on proper techniques.
