Job Description

DESCRIPTION
The overall role of the Human Resources Generalist is to assist with administration of HR policies and procedures that cover a number of key HR areas including but not limited to: compensation and benefits, payroll processing, performance management, talent management, etc.  This role will interact with doctors, management and staff.  The incumbent will work with the HR Director to ensure ongoing company compliance is maintained as it relates to all applicable federal and state employment laws.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and run a variety of reports for:  bonus, commission, performance reviews, etc.
  • Cross train with benefits and payroll to be able to step in as a backup during absences.
  • Ensure that all new hires have all of their required documentation and that it is filed in the personnel file.
  • Track and respond to unemployment claims.
  • Manage the offboarding of team members including conducting exit interviews for voluntary resignations.
  • Process, verify and maintain documentation related to HR activities such as staffing, performance evaluations, compliance training and team member personnel files.
  • Handle general team members questions pertaining to company policies, procedures, and benefit programs.
  • Assist in tracking legal requirements an government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions such as ADA, EEO, FLSA, FMLA, LOA, and OSHA.
  • Partner with the Operations Trainers to facilitate New Employee Orientation (NEO) as needed.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Prior solid experience in dealing with most of, if not all of the following HR areas: benefits, compensation, performance management, payroll processing, talent management is strongly preferred.
  • Must be detail orientated.
  • Strong communication skills a must.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities, with an ability to provide reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Friendly, approachable demeanor is essential.
  • Must have excellent time management, organizational and multitasking skills for a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work under pressure with changing priorities.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all team member issues (e.g., compensation, corrective action, employee relations issues, performance reviews, promotions, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products including, but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with HRIS/Payroll software such as ADP, Ceridian, Paycom, Paylocity, or PayServ.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required, but undergraduate degree in an applicable field is preferred.
  • 2 - 4 years of progressive human resources generalist experience with either a private or public company is required.
  • Prior human resources generalist experience working within a corporate business setting for a large employer (500+ employees) will be invaluable.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. 
  • Hand dexterity and eye and hand coordination is critical.
  • Lifting. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of one or both arms and wrists to lift parts, fixtures, and tools on a frequent basis.
  • Sitting.  Must be able to sit for long periods of time.  
  • Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately or quickly. 
  • Travel as needed between practices.
  • Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of structures.  Must be able to read a computer screen for long periods of time.  
  • Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one workstation to another.
