Position Overview:
We are seeking a licensed land surveyor to join our team in California preferably in our Mammoth Lakes or Bishop offices.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing our survey staff with occasional opportunity to perform field surveys, analyzing data, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The licensed land surveyor will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality surveying services to our clients while adhering to strict deadlines and maintaining professional integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform and oversee field surveyors on boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and other land surveying tasks using advanced surveying equipment and techniques.
2. Analyze survey data, including field notes, maps, deeds, and other relevant documents, to determine property boundaries, land elevations, and other essential information.
3. Prepare or oversee preparation of ALTA surveys, final and condominium maps, and legal descriptions in accordance with industry standards and client requirements.
4. Coordinate with clients, project managers, engineers, and principals to ensure accurate and timely completion of surveying projects.
5. Conduct research to gather information on property ownership, land use regulations, zoning ordinances, and other factors affecting surveying activities.
6. Maintain accurate records, including survey notes, sketches, and digital data, in
compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
7. Stay updated on advancements in surveying technology, software, and techniques to
enhance productivity and efficiency.
8. Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for
oneself and team members.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
1. Valid California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, preferably in California and 2 years of experience in responsible charge.
3. Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as Trimble total stations, GPS receivers, and digital levels.
4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
7. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS software, and other relevant surveying tools and software.
