Job Description

SUMMARY: 

With minimal supervision, is responsible for the maintenance of optimum finished goods inventory levels to meet or exceed customer expectations in Delivery, Service and Reliability. Responsible for planning and scheduling “make to order” parts based on actual sales orders and forecasts.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take total ownership, responsibility and accountability for assigned product line(s) in order to represent product(s) at production meetings.

  • Manage plant inventory levels for assigned projects which includes ordering the correct quantities, determining the appropriate lead times, tracking the available storage space, and identifying reasons that require inventory adjustments and correcting the cause.

  • Create and generate required Work Orders and Purchase Requisitions to make or buy required piece parts for subassemblies and assemblies for assigned projects.

  • Manage the completion of each component to support the project schedule.

  • Recommend ECN’s (Engineering Change Notices) as it occurs during manufacturing process.

  • Negotiate schedule deviations and priority with Contracts, Quality, Shop and Project Managers.

  • Keep Manager informed of unresolved production scheduling issues requiring attention.

  • Maintain planning documents in a manner suitable to support and comply with the department standard operating procedures, as well as the Company and GMP/ISO/CFR standards.

  • Other duties as assigned by Production and Inventory Control Supervisor, Manager and the Director of Supply Chain.  

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in planning and scheduling preferably in an Aerospace manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum three (3) year experience using an integrated (MRP/ERP) system required.

  • Understanding of master scheduling and forecasting processes.

  • Possess excellent verbal communication skills both verbal and written, to support effective correspondence with internal as well as external customers.

  • Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks to completion.

  • Ability to interact with various internal departments.

  • Ability to read and interpret Blueprint drawings and specifications.

  • Proficiency using MS Office software i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A BA/BS degree with a minimum of four (4) years of experience working in an Aerospace Manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
