Job Description

Sr. Project Manager for a Heavy Civil Paving and Roadway Company. Open to promoting a current PM into this or existing Sr. PM as long as you have paving and roadway project experience.


Pay upwards of 215k+ 100% paid for benefits and bonus. Work is also local to the surrounding Bay area so no need to travel.


Employee owned so you’ll get a certain percentage of stock/ownership every year.


JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire direction, completion, and financial outcomes of assigned projects in the Heavy Civil construction industry. This role involves providing strong leadership, guiding project teams, and fostering a collaborative working environment. The Senior Project Manager works with minimal Area Manager oversight and demonstrates advanced project management skills, handling multiple projects with a focus on budget, timeline, and quality control. This position requires business acumen, leadership, contract knowledge, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and client service capabilities. The Senior Project Manager is capable of independently managing construction projects with contract values up to $100M.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide strong leadership, guiding project teams, and fostering a collaborative working environment.

2. Demonstrate advanced project management skills, overseeing multiple projects with a focus on budget, timeline, and quality control.

3. Oversee site safety standards and protocols.

4. Assist with and produce project estimates.

5. Perform constructibility reviews.

6. Oversee the project permit process.

7. Prepare subcontracts, purchase orders, and oversee the procurement process.

8. Ensure accurate reporting and preparation of cost updates for projects in cost control and change management systems.

9. Create Initial Project Budget.

10. Maintain relationships with clients, designers, consultants, and internal GCC clients.

11. Prepare the initial master CPM schedule and oversee updates.

12. Prepare reports on the financial performance of the project based on advanced proficiency in cost reporting and cost projections.

13. Identify opportunities and maximize profit.

14. Prepare monthly client project status reports.

15. Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications.

16. Prepare monthly GCC pay application to the owner.

17. Attend and lead project meetings, including progress, pre-construction, and pre-award.

18. Review inspection and test data for compliance with specifications.

19. Develop and maintain site logistics plan in coordination with the Superintendent.

20. Manage QC/QA procedures and conduct quality inspections.

21. Communicate and enforce the Safety and Health Management Program.

22. Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through actions and mentoring.

23. Oversee project close-out.

24. Act as the owner contact for post-construction, including the warranty period.

25. Support the achievement of the company’s organizational goals and objectives by being cross-trained and cross-training others to increase knowledge and ability to perform different tasks.
