As humans, we all desire to be connected to others and be a valuable part of a community, whether at work, in our activities, or at home. Yet so often, in spite of all the digital opportunities we have for communication, we end up feeling isolated. Is there a way to feel more connected?
Brené Brown, research professor at the University of Houston, studies vulnerability, courage, authenticity, and shame in this funny but powerful TED video. Brown asks the question, “How do we learn to embrace our vulnerabilities and imperfections so that we can engage in our lives from a place of authenticity and worthiness? How do we cultivate the courage, compassion, and connection that we need to recognize that we are enough – that we are worthy of love, belonging, and joy?”
